Experience the Castle of Tjolöholm

Tour information

Step into the past with a guided day tour from Gothenburg to The Castle of Tjolöholm, Sweden’s finest example of Arts and Crafts architecture in Tudor style. Built by Blanche and James Dickson, An influential English-Swedish family who became key donors to the city. This magnificent estate features 36 unique rooms, formal gardens, and charming workers’ cottages.

Inside the castle, a guided tour reveals the Dicksons’ grand vision, rich interior details, and life at the turn of the 20th century. You’ll also visit the estate’s museum, showcasing historic horse-drawn carriages and curiosities like a one-ton vacuum cleaner from the early days of domestic technology.

Enjoy a relaxing break at the castle café and gift shop, where local treats and handcrafted souvenirs await.

Optional: Combine your visit with a stop at Fjärås Bräcka, a dramatic geological formation left behind after the Ice Age. This nature reserve offers panoramic views over Lake Lygnern and features a visitor center with exhibits on the area’s natural and cultural history. It’s part of the Gothenburg moraine and a unique window into Sweden’s glacial past.

NB: We can tailor the tour with additional options, adjust the duration for group bookings, and adapt the route for bus-based tours.

The program in Gothenburg was very well received, and several people compared it to the level of events in Cannes. With glorious sunshine and a well-planned program, it was a great success!

The event agency led by Petra was very impressive. The team was professional, skilled and always available when needed, which gave the event an extra boost.

Partnering with Limited of Sweden for our Chamber’s inaugural international trip was an outstanding decision. Petra and her team delivered an impeccably organized experience, handling every logistical detail with precision and care.

Their thoughtful planning provided our group with meaningful cultural immersion, while also allowing ample free time for individual exploration.

We had an unforgettable experience thanks to Limited of Sweden. The guides were knowledgeable, engaging, and made the trip enjoyable from start to finish.

Every stop felt thoughtfully curated, and their enthusiasm was infectious. I am incredibly grateful that they were the ones to take us around Sweden, it would not have been the same without them.
