Discover Gothenburg on foot and experience the city from its most iconic streets and scenic viewpoints. This guided walking tour takes you through historic squares, elegant boulevards, charming neighborhoods, and up to stunning lookout points offering panoramic views of the city.
We begin at Gustaf Adolfs Torg, the historic square where Gothenburg was founded. From there, we walk uphill along Avenyn, the city’s most famous boulevard, lined with shops, restaurants, and lively street life. At the top, we reach Götaplatsen, home to some of Gothenburg’s key cultural landmarks:

Our walk continues through the beautiful neighborhood of Vasastaden, known for its early 20th-century architecture and relaxed atmosphere. Here, you’ll get a sense of the city’s historic charm and everyday life.
Next, we pick up the pace for a short uphill walk to Skansen Kronan, a former hilltop fortress. The climb is a bit of a challenge, but the breathtaking panoramic view is well worth it—perfect for photos and unforgettable memories.
Descending into the heart of the city, we enter Haga, one of Gothenburg’s oldest and most beloved districts. We stroll along Haga Nygata, a pedestrian street lined with cozy cafés, independent boutiques, and the irresistible aroma of freshly baked cinnamon buns.
Recharged, we continue through Järntorget and Esperantoplatsen, two lively squares that connect various parts of the city. From there, we take one final climb to Carolus Rex Bastion, a lesser-known but impressive viewpoint with wide views over Gothenburg’s rooftops.
The tour concludes with a peaceful walk along Gothenburg’s harbor canal, crossing charming bridges and soaking in the maritime atmosphere, before arriving back at Gustaf Adolfs Torg—completing the circle, with Gothenburg in your heart and memories in your pocket.
