Tour information

Discover Vrångö An Archipelago Adventure with History, Nature, and World-Class Views

Join us for a guided day trip to Vrångö – the southern most of the year-round inhabited islands in the Gothenburg archipelago. After a scenic ferry ride through the coastal waters, we arrive at an island that offers a perfect blend of  sandy beaches and  rocky shores – truly the best of both worlds!

Together with our guide, we’ll follow Vrångö’s nature trail, an easy and accessible path that leads us through lush forests, open granite landscapes, and along sparkling shorelines. The highlight of the tour is a visit to the historic pilot’s lookout, once used by maritime pilots scanning the horizon for ships to guide safely into the port of Gothenburg. At Vrångö, legends tell of smugglers, pirates, and shipwrecks. In the 17th and 18th centuries, Danish and Swedish privateers haunted these waters, preying on passing trade ships. Many vessels have met their fate on the treacherous reefs around the island, their stories still whispered in the winds of the archipelago. Island Discovery – Vrångö – Island of Pirates

On our walk across Vrångö, we will also pass the island’s historic cemetery — a fascinating and atmospheric place that tells stories of the past. Here rest shipwrecked sailors as well as entire families who tragically lost their lives during the cholera outbreaks of the 19th century, a time when the epidemic reached even remote parts of Sweden. This unique stop offers both history and reflection, adding depth and authenticity to your archipelago experience.

From the top, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of Vinga Lighthouse, the Öckerö islands, and the Swedish mainland – a spot that invites reflection, stillness, and the perfect photo to capture the moment.

At Vrångö you will find a bohemian garden café aswell as a local fishingrestaurang ( even though they serve excellent Pizza aswell)
This is a truly qute island – easily accessable from Gothenburg – and one of our favourites. This is also one of the locals favorite island – and many boatowners from Gothenburg end up here in the summer or on weekends. On Midsummer this is also where you find a traditional midsummer celebration with midsummer pole, lotteries, and dancing locals.

We would especially like to thank you both for your dedication and flexibility. You played a significant role in making our event run so smoothly.

We had an unforgettable experience thanks to Limited of Sweden. The guides were knowledgeable, engaging, and made the trip enjoyable from start to finish.

Every stop felt thoughtfully curated, and their enthusiasm was infectious. I am incredibly grateful that they were the ones to take us around Sweden, it would not have been the same without them.
