Even the airport is certified at the highest level of the Airport Carbon Accreditation scheme. The city has also issued the world’s very first green bonds to accelerate climate-focused investments and aims to become fossil independent by 2030. No wonder Gothenburg was named European Capital of Smart Tourism 2020 by the European Commission.
